The BMW Group and material.one are cooperating to digititalze supply chains, thereby improving sustainability and promoting materials recycling in the automotive industry.
Partnership for digitized sustainability and efficiency in the automotive industry
material.one and the BMW Group have partnered to enable the recycling of raw and other materials in the automotive industry with digital process control. material.one offers a supply chain collaboration platform for data exchange throughout supply chains.
The platform facilitates the exchange of data between OEMs, testing and certification laboratories, authorities and automotive salvagers. This leads to time and cost savings and promotes a closed value chain that strengthens sustainability. The partnership is part of the Future Sustainable Car Materials (FSCM) project initiated by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action together with the BMW Group.
material.one enables independent and standardized document exchange and improves the traceability of materials and raw materials during the vehicle development process. The platform coordinates the processes between BMW and its suppliers and informs all involved stakeholders along the value chain about materials, test results and process status. The partnership aims to improve efficiency and sustainability in the automotive value chain and promote sustainable resource use.
